This accession includes copies of photographs, artists' renditions, and published articles related to the U.S. Air Force X-20 Dyna Soar experimental aircraft and to electronic flight instrument display engineering during the 1960s. Includes copy of photograph of systems engineer Daniel Hampton at the controls in a x-20 Dyna Soar simulator cockpit. Also includes copy of a 1968 article published in "Sperry Engineering Review" co-authored by Hampton on advanced display techniques and a copy of an article on Sperry's development of electronic ADI (altitude director indicator.) Also includes copies of photographs of CRT (cathode ray tube) display mockups for Space Shuttle development.
