Photograph with press release on back titled "Purdue Students Learn to Fly". The first three college students to start their course in flight instruction in the Civil Aeronautics Authority sponsored pilot training program at Purdue University. The press statement goes on to say that "Purdue University was the first of 13 schools selected by the Authority actually to get under way in theis new program. Pictured are: Emmet Hamer, Llloyd Treece, and Oscar Grab. Press release and photo are dated February 23, 1939.
