Biographical Information
Jack Albright was born on March 13, 1930 in San Francisco, California. He was Professor Emeritus of Animal Sciences and Veterinary Medicine at Purdue University. He received his B.A. from Polytechnic State-San Luis Obispo in 1952 in dairy husbandry. Albright earned his master’s degree in dairy science (1954) and doctorate degree (1957) from Washington State University. He became a Purdue Professor in 1963. Albright received his National Science Foundation certificate in animal behavior while at Michigan State University, and studied animal behavior in Wales and New Zealand. Some of his research areas between 1977 and 1996 included behavior and management of high-yielding dairy cows, group size in large dairy herds, and stray voltage on dairy farms.
