Biographical Information

James William Noel was born in 1876 in Ohio. Noel received his bachelor of science degree from Purdue University in 1892, and his Bachelor of Law from Indiana Law School in 1895. Noel spent his career at the law firm Noel, Armstrong, and Woodard. He served as the special attorney for the City of Indianapolis and eventually became a special assistant to Attorney General Wickersham. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of Purdue University from 1917 till his death in 1944. Additionally, he was a Member American Indiana State and Indianapolis bar associations, American History Society, Indiana History Society, National Economics League, International Law Association, Indianapolis Board of Trade, Indianapolis Chamber Commerce, and Sigma Nu Fraternity.
