Biographical Information
Horace W. Payne enrolled at Purdue University in 1939 and regularly fought in boxing tournaments. He enlisted in the Marines in 1942 and was commissioned as 2nd Leiutenant in February 1943. He died in June 1943 when his plane suffered engine failure during a training flight.
