Biographical Information
Jesse George Boyle was born on November 27, 1883, in Hills Corners, Michigan.
Boyle was educated in the public schools of Hills Corners and Niles, Michigan. He earned his Bachelor of Science from Michigan State College in 1908 and his Master of Science from Purdue University in 1911. There he worked as an Assistant Professor in Horticulture and at the Agricultural Experiment Station. Boyle completed his Master of Horticulture degree from Michigan State College in 1913.
In 1926, Boyle was elected as a Republican to the House of Representatives of the Michigan State Legislature and served for three two-year terms between 1927-32 (54th - 56th sessions).
Boyle was engaged in the production of fruit on his farm located northwest of Buchanan, Michigan, and served as the president of the Berrien County Farm Bureau. He also worked with the St. Joe Valley Shipping Association of Niles and Buchanan and the Grower-Consumer Direct Sales Service of Chicago. Boyle also served as the secretary-treasurer of the Berrien County National Farm Loan Association, and as director of the Buchanan State Bank.
Boyle was a member of the Michigan State Grange, Kiwanis Club, Board of Directors of Michigan State Farm Bureau, and I.O.O.F. lodge.
