Biographical Information

David E. Nichols was born on December 23, 1944, in Covington, Kentucky. He earned his B.S. in 1969 from the University of Cincinatti, and his Ph.D. in 1973 from the University of Iowa. He was a professor of Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacology at Purdue University, founded and is president of the Heffter Research Institute, and is a co-founder of darPharma. Nichols retired from Purdue University and relocated his lab to University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2012. He is currently working on developing medication to aid in treatment of Parkinson's Disease and schozophrenia.
