Biographical Statement

John E. Christian is a long time faculty member, who received a Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate from Purdue University, School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. He was born on July 12, 1917. Christian stayed on the faculty to start Bionucleonics Research at Purdue. Bionucleonics is the application of nuclear physics to biology. Bionucleonics became a department at Purdue and then part of the School of Health Sciences. Christian became head of the department. He also served on key committees within the school, the state of Indiana, and nationally. His home SAMARA [Winged Seeds] was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and arrangement of tours and lectures occupies his time in retirement.
