Biographical Information
John E. Blatha graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science in engineering science and a Master of Science in astronautical engineering from Purdue University in 1966. He took part in five space missions on both the Space Shuttle and Mir. Because of his mission on Mir during the 1996 U.S. election, Blatha was unable to vote. Texas amended their election statutes to allow voting from space because of Blatha's situation.
