Biographical Information

John Bibb Mills was born January 1, 1877, in Montgomery, Alabama to Marietta Dickinson and Rev. Joseph Levin Mills. He received his bachelor’s degree in 1895 and master’s in 1900 from Western Maryland College, then received his law degree from the University of Maryland Law School before entering general law practice in Baltimore and becoming a member of the Maryland State and Baltimore Bar Associations. He married Martha Dicks Stevens in 1907 in West Lafayette, Indiana, with whom he had four children. He died December 23, 1950, in Baltimore, Maryland.
