Biographical Information

Loral Ashley O’Hara was born on May 3, 1983, in Houston Texas. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Kanas (05) and her Master of Science degree in aeronautics and astronautics from Purdue University (09). Prior to working at NASA, O’Hara worked at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in their engineering department. While she was at Woods O’Hara main responsibilities were with designing underwater and research submersibles and robotics. In 2017 O’Hara was inducted into NASA 22nd astronaut class. On September 15, 2023, she boarded the International Space Station as part of the Soyuz MS-24 mission.
