Biographical Information

Dr. Eric L. Clitheroe was the first Professor of Philosophy at Purdue University. He was hired by President Hovde in 1951 and is credited with the founding of the Philosophy program at Purdue. Clitheroe retired in 1972 and passed away in 1986.
