Biographical Information
Roscoe R. Fraser of Monticello, Indiana, graduated from Purdue University in 1916 with a B.S. in Agricultural Education. He taught agriculture in Monticello from 1917 to 1919, taking leave during that time to serve in World War I. Fraser served as the White County Extension Agent from 1920 to 1926 and worked at the Potash Institute before joining Purdue's Horticulture Department in 1933 as the Vegetable Crops Extension Specialist. He spent the next 19 years as an extension agent, becoming a familiar face throughout Indiana for his role in agricultural education and events. Fraser retired from Purdue in 1962 but continued to participate in 4-H and agricultural education activities throughout the state until his death in 1977.
