Laura Huxley (née Archera) was born on November 2, 1911. She spent her childhood and most of her teens as a professional violinist, studying at the Curtis Institute of Music after having earned a Professor of Music degree in Europe. She went on to work as a film editor, where she encountered Aldous Huxley, whom she married in 1956. She published several books, including You Are Not The Target (1963), Between Heaven and Earth (1974), One-a-Day Reason to be Happy (1986), and This Timeless Moment (1969), regarding her life with Aldous. She passed away on December 13, 2007, after battling cancer.
