Biographical Information

John H. Ehresman was born on June 19, 1868, near Monitor, Indiana, and lived in the area for the majority of his life. He attended Purdue University's Preparatory Academy during the 1893 - 1894 academic year. Ehresman was then enrolled directly into Purdue University from 1894 - 1897 and took courses in Mechanical Engineering, although there is no record of him beginning his senior year or graduating from Purdue. The final records on his transcript are from the fall semester of 1896. He worked as a farmer in Perry Township, and in 1912 he married Lillie Tucker. They had a son, William, before she died in 1918. He was a member of the Buck Creek Methodist Church, and was living in Buck Creek, Indiana, at the time of his death. He died on November 9, 1961, at the Goodwill Nursing Home in Camden, Indiana.
