Biographical Information

Lois Wark, born Lois Kennedy, worked for Purdue University as the Assistant Dean of Women and later as the Creator and Director of the Career Counselling Program in the School of Science.

Wark attended Carleton College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology before attending Northwestern University for a Master's in the Division of Correlated Studies: Personnel (a combination of Psychology and Business). Between 1953-1954, Wark attended Purdue University where she earned 15 hours of graduate studies in Counselling.

Before becoming the Assistant Dean of Women at Purdue University, Wark was the Director of Non-Academic Personnel at Northwestern University. She was hired by Helen Schleman as Assistant Dean of Women in the 1950s. Wark also worked as the Creator and Director of the Career Counselling Program in the School of Science.

After retiring from Purdue, Wark remained active in organizations such as Leadership Lafayette, Greater Lafayette Volunteer Bureau, and Purdue University Retiree Association (PURA).
