Cheri Lynn Herman Daniels was born in New Albany, Idiana in 1950. She is the granddaughter of baseball Hall of Famer Billy Herman. She attended Indiana University and married President of Purdue University and former Governor of Indiana Mitch E. Daniels in 1978. Daniels served as Indiana First Lady from January 10, 2005 – January 14, 2013.
