Biographical Information
He was born in Bimble, Kentucky on May 16, 1920. He received his bachelor's degree from Eastern Kentucky State in 1943, master's degree from Purdue in 1951, and doctorate of Education from Indiana University in 1961. He served as a Navy Officer in 1943 during WWII and left in 1946 shortly before he came to Purdue. He joined Purdue as a vocational and industrial arts teacher. In 1962 he was promoted to department head and in 1986 he retired. He was president and vice president of the National Association of Industrial and Technical Teacher Educators. He wrote "End of the Road in Bimble, Kentucky". He was associate dean of Purdue University's School of Technology and was named one of Eastern Kentucky University's distinguished graduates.
