Thacker, Herbert L. (Herbert Leon)

Biographical Information

Thacker received a D.V.M. in 1965 and a Ph.D. in 1976 both from Purdue University. He was a professor of veterinary pathology and director of the Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory. He also worked as director of the Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory. He was given the IVMA President's Award. He received the Hovde Award for his teaching, research, and service in the veterinary and agricultural communities. He was recognized by the Indiana Veterinary Medical Association as Veterinarian of the Year in 2009. The governor at the time, Mitch Daniels, also recognized him as a Sagamore of the Wabash.
