Biographical Information

Bemiller was born in Evansville, Indiana on April 7, 1933. He received his bachelor's in agricultural biochemistry, (with highest distinction) from Purdue University in 1954. He received his master's, and doctorate degrees from Purdue University in biochemistry in 1956 and 1959 respectively. Both of his parents attended Purdue University. He is a professor Emeritus of food science in the college of agriculture. Some of his research includes polysaccharide structure and modification, starch granule structure, and carbohydrate chemistry.
