Biographical Information
Williamson Dunn Vater was born on May 17, 1868, in Lafayette, Indiana. He graduated from Purdue University and Princeton Theological Seminary. For a few years he was associated with his father on the Evening Call newspaper. Ordained a Presbyterian minister in 1899, he held several pastoral posts. In 1912 Vater was the pastor of the North Covenant Presbyterian Church in St. Louis.
