Biographical Information

R. "Joe" Rudolph, a native of Crown Point, Indiana, graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Science in 1948. As a student, he was involved in Phi Gamma Delta, the Gimlet Club, the Newman Club, P.A.C., the "P" Man's Club, and acted as a Football Senior Manager. Joe served in World War II in the Army. In 1953 the Purdue Alumni Association developed a new position and named R. J. Rudolph the first Executive Director. He retired in 1988 and was one of the founders of the John Purdue Club. He was known by his nickname: "Mr. Purdue." He was honored with the Legends Award in June 2014.
