Biographical Information
Roger Blalock attended Purdue University from 1966-1969. He earned a Bachelor of Physical Education with a minor in Communication and played for the Purdue basketball team. Blalock worked for Purdue in many capacities. He was a financial aid counselor (1971) and assistant basketball coach (1974-1979) before heading to Eastern Michigan. After he returned to Purdue, he served as the assistant director (1981-1992) and associate director (1992-1995) for the Office of Admissions before working in the athletics department. He served as the athletic department compliance coordinator, assistant director (1995-1999), associate director (1999-2004) and senior associate director (2004-2012) before his retirement in 2012. Blalock was a member of the Purdue Black Alumni Association, local chapter of the NAACP, the John Purdue Club, and more.
