Biographical Information

Patsy J. Mellott graduated from Purdue University in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science in Foods in Business. Mellott became one of Kraft Foods' few female employees in a leadership position, has served on numerous boards, and has received numerous awards and honors from Purdue.

Mellott started at Kraft as an assistant to the Division Marketing Manager and was promoted to Marketing Manager then Brand Manager. At Kraft, she "strategized and implemented programs to stabilize sales and profit performance [and] developed and directed a complete restage of retort foods into new markets."

In addition to her work at Kraft, Mellott was vice president and director for the national organization, Women in Management, has served on the Consumer and Family Sciences (CFS) and Health and Human Sciences (HHS) Alumni Boards and on the President's Council Board. She has also received numerous honors from Purdue, including the Dinstinguished Alumni Award (1997), HHS's Distinguished Service Award (1984), and was inducted into the Nutrition Science Hall of Fame (2009).
