Biographical Information

John S. Day was the Dean of the School of Industrial Management and Krannert Graduate School of Industral Administration at Purdue University. Day earned a Master of Business Adminstration (MBA) and doctorate at Harvard University. In 1956, he was hired to help begin the BSIM (Industrial Managment) program at Purdue; in 1959, Day was promoted to professor. He served as Dean of the Krannert School from 1969 to 1978. He is from Peterborough, New Hampshire. He was born in Newton, Massachusetts.

In 1978, Day became Purdue University's vice president for development; in 1983 he returned to the Krannert School of the Herman C. Krannert Professor of Management. Day retired in 1986 as vice president emeritus.
