Biographical Information

Edward Mills Purcell graduated in electrical engineering from Purdue University in 1933. He received his Ph. D. from Harvard University in 1938 and worked as a physics instructor and later became professor of physics. He also served as the Head of the Fundementals Development Group for the Radiation Laboratory at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was also a fellow of the President's Science Advisory Committee under President Eisenhower and President Kennedy.
