Biographical Information

Keim is a native Hoosier and the family farm is still in the family. He recalls attending Purdue, his service in World War II, and his career path prior to coming to Purdue. At Purdue he was a faculty member in the Department of Agronomy from 1960 to 1975 when he left to become Head of the Agronomy Department at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. Keim discusses campus life during his time a Purdue. Students, Teaching, Faculty Committees, the West Lafayette community, and changes during the Presidency of F.L. Hovde while Keim was here. Among his honors are inclusion in the 1970 edition of outstanding Educators of America; Outstanding Teaching Award, Agronomy Education from the American Society of Agronomy. He was named one of the initial awardees for the Legends of Agronomy Award at the celebration November 17 2007 marking the 100th anniversary of the Agronomy Department in the School of Agriculture.
