Biographical Information

Bernice Sarah Nelson was born in Lowell, Indiana, in 1882, where she graduated high school in 1899. She was a popular student during her time at Purdue and was active in the Philalethean Society; Athletic Association; Tennis Association; Exponent Staff as Assistant Literary Editor; and Debris Staff as Associate Editor. She graduated with a B.S. in Science in 1905. In June 1909 Bernice married L. Murray Grant, Purdue Class of 1904, and moved with him to Seattle in his home state of Washington.  Bernice died in 1970.
