Biographical Information

Ralph Harold Carr was a Professor of Acgricultural Science at Purdue University. He married Myrtle Louthan in 1906 and they had one son, Bruce B. Carr. After Myrtle's death in 1939, Carr married her sister, Lenore Frances Louthan, who died in 1963.

He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 1903 from Wooster College and his Ph.D. in 1913 from the University of Wisconsin. Carr served as a Professor of Chemistry at Purdue University from 1913-1938. In 1943 he moved from Lafayette, Indiana, to Winter Park, Florida, where he died on February 9, 1964.

During his career, Carr authored several books and over 40 scientific publications. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Orlando, Lambda Chi Aplha, Phi Lambda Upsilon, Sigma Xi, the American Chemistry Society, and the University Club of Winter Park.
