Historical Information

The Small Animal House was built to house the large number of small animals, rats, guinea pigs, and rabbits used for work in animal nutrition. These animals were previously occupying space in the Veterinary building. The building was an A-frame building that was 50 feet long and 40 feet wide and was built near the present Veterinary plant. The Building was torn down in 1959 to make room for the new Holding Pen and Avian Isolation Units 1-9.
