Historical Information
The Purdue Village Preschool was originally designed to be a nursery for residents of Married Student Courts. It started operatons as a parent cooperative, Nimitz Drive Co-Operative Nursery School, in the 1950s. The cooperative later hired full-time staff and operated as an independent organization. The building has gone through multiple functions and name changes. At some point in 1990s, the preschool was absorbed into operations of Purdue Village as part of residential life functions. It was a preschool for the children of Purdue Village residents, Purdue students, Purdue faculty, and the general public. The parent cooperative ceased to exist in part due to failure to stay current on IRS paperwork. The original name of Purdue Village was Married Student Housing, with acronym MSH.
