Historical Information
Lambert Field was built in 1965 to house the baseball team after construction began on Mackey Arena. Before its construction, the Old Lambert Field, or Ross-Ade Field, was located on Northwestern Avenue next to this location. In 1999, the field began to go through yearly renovations including a new outfield wall, irrigation systems, new bullpens, and adjustments to the screens and fences to protect fans and cars. In 2012, the field was taken out of use and was replaced by Alexander Field.
