Little is known about the construction of the Holding Pen. It was built during the same time period as the major construction of the rest of the Veterinary Complex in the early 1960's (Small and Large Animal Clinics, Lynn Hall, Metabolic Disease Lab, Farriery, Veterinary Laboratory Animal Building, Farriery).
