Historical Information

The Equine Health Science Building was originally known as the Bull Barn. It was built as part of a large construction project to create multiple buildings to be used for the school of Veterinary Science and Medicine. The total cost of constructing these buildings was $5,485,000. This building was originally used for the study of diseases pertaining to horse's feet and the reproductive problems of cattle. It was renamed the Farriery and then the Veterinary Farriery in 1963 and 1980 respectively. It was eventually renamed the Equine Health Sciences Building in 1999 and was later expanded.
