Historical Information

The new Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (ADDL) was constructed just south of the original Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (currently the Veterinary Pathobiology Research Laboratory) and the Animal Isolation Units. It serves Indiana in diagnosing animal diseases, providing assistance in maintaining animal health and well-being, and ensuring nutritious and disease-free food products. It is a three-story building which has laboratory spaces for serology, histology, virology, pathology, microbiology, toxicology, and avian specimens, an electron microscopy room, an avian necropsy room, a specimen prep room, a postmortem floor, and an incinerator. It also has several locker rooms and viewing rooms for students.
