The Thomas S. and Harvey D. Wilmeth Active Learning Center is a multipurpose, adaptive library facility which is part of Purdue's IMPACT program. It is located at the heart of campus between Wetherill Hall of Chemistry and the Gatewood Wing of the Mechanical Engineering building. It is a student-centered space with 27 active learning classrooms, collaborative and study spaces, a Grand Reading Room with views of the clock tower, Au Bon Pain cafe and bakery with an open patio, the state of the art Maker Space and Geographical Information Visualization Center, and the Engineering and Science Library. The building is designed to have a highly efficient use of space, including a transition from classrooms to study spaces, and hosts a variety of activities, events, and versatile spaces for all Purdue University students.
