Historical Information
When the Purdue University Student Health Center was built, it provided beds for over 90 patients. It also contained other health facilities for surgeries, x-rays, psychiatric services, physiotherapy, cystoscopy, and electroencephalography. The health center also consists of a central supply room, fracture room, emergency room, cafeteria, and kitchen for both in-patients and out-patients requiring special diets. It was originally called the Student Hospital and was renamed the Student Health Center in 1991.
