Historical Information

Originally called the Engineering and Geoscience Complex, the Materials and Electrical Engineering Building (MSEE) was built in 1988. It contains an open two-story glassed atrium, two laboratory facilities, and two pedestrian skyways that connect this building to the Electrical Engineering and Physics building. The two laboratories in the building are the Turner Laboratory which is used by Electrical Engineering and Materials Engineering and the Integrated Optics Laboratory which has a "clean room" that is used to grow new materials atom by atom.
