Historical Information
Smith Hall was built in 1913 in order to meet the growing need of the School of Agriculture. The building was made of brick, stone, reinforced concrete floors, and a tile roof. When it was built, it consisted of a two story front part that was 60 x 120 feet, a rear 72 x 118 feet portion, and a connecting building that was 23 x 30 feet. The building contained offices, lecture rooms, private laboratories, a commercial creamery, locker rooms, toilet rooms, and rooms for making butter, ice cream and cheese.
