Historical Information

The North Power Plant was built in 1925 in order to meet the growing needs of the university. It supplied the university's buildings with light and power in the most economically responsible way. A fire occurred in 1932 and a lightning strike damaged the chimney in 1938. The building also went through multiple renovations and expansions.
