Purdue University. Center for Career Opportunities
Historical Information
The Purdue Center for Career Opportunities (CCO) and Pre-professional advising is open to undergraduate and graduate students, alumni, employers and faculty and staff.
The earliest placement services date back to at least 1921. By 1972, two campus placement offices assisted students and alumni, the University Placement Service office and the Educational Placement Office. The placement office served many companies by mail and telephone contacts. The Educational Placement office was a very important part of the teacher preparation program at Purdue.
CCO services include one-on-one counseling, drop-in assistance, workshops and outreach presentations, career fairs, and an online tool for employers to post job postings, view resumes, and schedule interviews. CCO also allows job seekers to access those postings, post their resumes, and schedule interviews with employers. The pre-professional advisors assist people to explore career options, prepare to be a competitive applicant, and apply as a strong candidate.
