Biography

The Department of Electrical Engineering Technology was established on the West Lafayette Campus in 1966. The department had existed on the Purdue regional campuses and Technical Extension locations for several years before coming to the West Lafayette main campus. In 1967, the department was renamed the Department of Electrical Technology. In 1977, the name was changed back to the Department of Electrical Engineering Technology to differentiate it from technical schools such as Ivy Tech. In 2004, the department was renamed the Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology Department. In 2013, the department merged with the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology to form the School of Engineering Technology.
