The International Space Station was launched on November 20, 1988 into Earth's low orbit to conduct microgravity and space environment experiments. It is maintained by five space agencies: NASA (United States), Roscosmos (Russia), ESA (Europe), JAXA (Japan), and CSA (Canada).
