Project Gemini was the second program designed by the National Aeronautic and Space Administration (NASA) for human spaceflight. The main task of Project Gemini was to create the groundwork for Project Apollo and a successful moon landing. Using a two-astronaut crew, ten crews and 16 astronauts were able to fly low Earth orbit missions.
